The Trail Stewards are building momentum!  

As of December 27, 2025 EVERY section of the main trail and major trail loops has as least one trail steward.   WOW!  What a way to wrap up a year!  This is a major achievement to fill out the dance card, but the more important thing is that we have many more individuals advocating for, and taking sweat equity ownership in a few miles of great trail.  

We try to have two or more trail stewards for each section of trail--that helps on the day to day condition surveys; it promotes some accountability; and should one individual move on, there is continuity.  We continue to have need for a second Trail Steward on many sections.  

To all the member and non-member trail stewards out there, you all are terrific and the trail is much better because of your trail advocacy and attention to detail.  ALL your observations get passed on to our maintenance teams who then prioritize work and get it done.  Click here to see the list of current Trail Stewards:  Trail Stewards.  On that page is a brief summary of Trail Steward expectations. 

We are simply thrilled to have reached this milestone.  More than ever, we surpass being merely a hiking club--we are building a thriving hiking community.
