Hikes begin promptly at 9 am; plan to arrive at the trailhead 15 minutes early. We are usually out of the woods by 1:30 pm. Hike length ranges from 5 to 7 miles over uneven terrain with possible multiple creek crossings. This hike has several very callenging locations. Sturdy footwear, trekking poles or hiking staff recommended. Hikes are either loop hike or out-and-back. Hikers should bring water, insect repellent, lunch, fanny or daypack, rain gear, and any other specialty items that might be needed during the hike. Carry plenty of water--at least 2 quarts. We recommend wearing a hydration pack in the summer heat and humidity to allow continuous hydration or you may not drink enough water to stay hydrated. Pets must be on a leash for the duration of the hike.
